Drove up to Torrance with Torin today for some super productive meetings with Len and some folks to be announced in the near future.
Stopped by a rad little Vegetarian Vietnamese spot on the way back.

Honestly ... Not even sure how to respond to the news of Michael Jackson's demise today.
It was easy to be sarcastic about some of his actions when dude was alive.
I figure I'll just leave it at a solid tune from back in the day and let the rest of the web supply the cynicism.
Not that I do not have my own.
However, I'd be a liar if I said I never tried to moonwalk.
At the same time MEGA bummed with all the cosmetic surgery and bizarre actions.
A few months back, my good friend Big Mike was kind enough to share some photos he took while visiting MJ's auction in LA.

The first time I flew into Hong Kong, I was lucky enough to fly into Kai Tak Airport which no longer exists and might just have been one of the sketchiest landing strips on the planet. (However charming. )

It's always strange flying back to the US from Hong Kong and getting home before I left.
I left HK at 11:45 am, Wed. June 24th.
Arrived in California at 8:40 am, Wed. June 24th.
I'll never get used to that.

06-16-09 Case File: A VISIT WITH THE SUBCREW FAMILY.
Been quite some time since I've been back in Hong Kong and an even longer time since I've gotten to hang with the Subcrew family.
Spent the morning in Sham Shui Po lurking around for fabric, then walked over to Mong Kok, to spend some time catching up with Ah Pang (Frankie) KS, Kobe and Fhai. Sam was unfortunately out of town.
Later brother Lenny met us at the office as well.
A bit of lunch, then back to the office.
Lots of aded old man conversation with Deacon. He's never short of things to say about the industry.
The Subcrew office is AWESOME!
Teeming with cool stuff to look at and brimming with productivity and creative energy.
Ah Pang and I met through our brother Tabo years ago.
Tabo and Ah Pang worked in the commercial diving industry for quite some time together and were both some of the godfathers of Hong Kong Skateboarding.
I have to say that besides making killer product for Subcrew and many of the better private label hats you see in the market, Ah Pang is one of the most genuine people I have had the pleasure of meeting in my entire life.
I am sincerely lucky to be able to call him a friend.
Be on the look out for some family collaborative ventures in the near future.
