I've had this 1940's
Bakelite phone sitting around for a while in hopes of making a headphone monitor out of it.
Finally got around to it today.
Had a broken Stanton headphone around and some spare time.
•Had to pull out all the "guts" of the phone.
•After pulling the stanton headphone apart, I realized that the diameter of the space that accommodated the earpiece of the phone was not wide enough to accommodate the headphone driver.(Holy Run-On Sentance)
Dremmel tool to the rescue. BE CAREFUL KIDDIES! Bakelite is HIGHLY TOXIC. Last thing anyone needs to do is inhale a bunch of toxic black dust.
•Some rewiring and soldering ... HOORAY! Head-Phone.
SO... I got this
Cold Steel "Ti-Lite" folder about a year ago. Was tinkering around with the handle over the weekend.
My first time working with Bamboo. Not super psyched on the way it turned out as it's quite rough and the handle is waaay thicker that the original Zytel one, but all in all a fun project.
Prolly grind the bamboo down a little more as it's considerably thicker than I originally envisioned.
I'm sure I will revisit this one at some point in the near future. ( Kinda rushed this one and It's painfully obvious. )
Rough Handles.
